FIREFLY: ‘VERSES Announcement

Explore a New Vision of the FIREFLY Universe in ’VERSES

Ryan Parrott and Lalit Kumar Sharma Chart a Bold Exploration of the Iconic Sci-Fi Universe

BOOM! Studios announced today a brand new one-shot special set in the iconic universe of Firefly. FIREFLY: ’VERSES #1, from writer Ryan Parrott and artist Lalit Kumar Sharma, will explore an alternative timeline that begins with a simple question: What if the Browncoats… had won?

Fans will be delighted to discover a bold new vision for the familiar crew of the Serenity, as their fates continue to intertwine in strange and surprising ways. Because while the Alliance was defeated in this universe… the ’verse remains a dangerous and mysterious place…

Fan favorite Mighty Morphin Power Rangers writer Ryan Parrott (Rogue Sun, The Infernals) will pen this one-shot special, alongside stellar artist Lalit Kumar Sharma (The Vigil).

“I’m a huge fan of ‘What if…’ stories and of the ‘Firefly’ franchise as a whole, so getting the opportunity to explore how the crew of the Serenity might have turned out if the Browncoats had won the war… well, that’s just too good of a story not to tell. I can’t express how grateful I am to Boom Studios for letting me take a stroll in ‘The Verse” and show all of these iconic, beloved characters through a brand new lens. It really is one of the most exciting and complex stories I’ve ever had the chance to pen, and I hope fans come along for the ride.” said writer Ryan Parrott.

“Telling another story for Firefly feels like hom again, but this time, it’s a different home! The new browncoat is sleek and expensive, but just maybe it’s a little too heavy to wear for a long time.” said artist Lalit Kumar Sharma.

FIREFLY: ’VERSES #1 will be available in comic shops July 31, 2024. It is available for pre-order at your local comic shop. Digital copies can be purchased from content providers, including Kindle, iBooks, and Google Play.
