Tomás is the new captain of the Jazz Pandas dodgeball team, and he’s got a certain knack for keeping an eye on on the ball (or several!). However, he’s untested and still not quite part of the team. If the disorganized Jazz Pandas want to make it to summer regional championships they’ll have to pull together under Tomás’ leadership.

Tomás is an emotional kid, born without a filter for his mile-a-minute brain (and mouth). Tomás’s energy makes him uniquely suited to the frenetic pace of dodgeball
Amardeep is the MVP of the Jazz Pandas. He can’t always make it to every practice or even every game, since a lot of the time he has to help his grandparents, but he’s a vital part of the team.
Oboe practice, foreign language tutors, robot camp… nearly every waking minute of Drew’s life is scheduled. The disorder and chaos of dodgeball is an escape for her, but as the time demands of the championship heat up, she has to decide what her priorities are.
Elsie is a founding member of the Jazz Pandas, though she’s not always comfortable with the ways the team is changing and what they’re willing to do to win. Elsie and Drew have always been inseparable, but lately they both have so much going on that they basically only get to see each other at practice.
Bubbly and bursting with energy, Judith is the Jazz Panda’s secret weapon, both because she’s nearly impossible to hit on the court (tiny), and because of her intense competitive streak (but fierce). She also likes to cosplay, and has a ton of siblings.
Huck is sweet and empathetic and always on his phone— both because he loves puzzle games and because texting is the easiest way for him to communicate with his teammates, since none of them know sign language. Huck is VERY good at social media.
